Sasha Wilson is a co-director of Bronx Community Charter School. He has been an educator in public schools in the north central Bronx for over 20 years. He spent his entire teaching career at P.S. 51/The Bronx New School before co-founding BxC, and he is a parent at the school along with being the school leader. He earned a B.A. in government from Wesleyan University and both an M.S. in Elementary Education and an M.S. in Leadership for Social Change from Bank Street College of Education.
Albania Ruiz is a co-director of Bronx Community Charter School. She has been an educator in public schools in the Bronx for over 10 years. Prior to joining the BxC community, Alby worked at a South Bronx public school, where she found her love for literacy and special education. Alby developed her ability to lead and support teachers in her work as the ELA department chair. She brought all of her experience to BxC, and pursued and completed a Masters degree in Educational Leadership at Bank Street. In 2016, Alby became a founding member of the 7th grade team and eventually moved up to teach humanities in 8th grade. Over the course of the past 7 years, Alby has developed strong relationships with her students, families, and staff members. Those experiences and relationships have helped her to transition into a leadership role at BxC. Her work as a co-director is fulfilling, and she is proud to serve a diverse community with a clear focus on social justice. |
